Meet The Cast

Meet the Cast

Kelsey’s princess career began as a tiny young girl playing dress up in oversized op shop gowns, never dreaming that this would become her future.

Over the years, Kelsey trained in many aspects of performing, including theatre, dance and music. Childcare quickly became a constant appearance on Kelsey’s CV as she became an assistant dance teacher, piano tutor and babysitter. But it was whilst nannying in the UK that she first experienced the magic of a princess visitor attending a birthday party. Inspiration struck and she knew how she could combine her theatrical background with her love of children.

Thus Enchanted Entertainment NZ was born! Whilst building this business, Kelsey completed her BA in English and Theatre, gaining a place on the Dean’s List and joining the Golden Key International Honour Society. She was also fortunate enough to travel overseas to work for a rather magical mouse… (both in the theme parks and cruise line).

“It is pretty much impossible to select my favourite thing about my work with this business. It could be every hug I receive from a child. Or a birthday girl interrupting me during a game to tell me that she can’t believe I’m here. Or a small boy dragging me around by the hand to introduce me to every single adult at his party.

From a management perspective, I adore watching a new performer attend their first party. Everyone always talks about the magic of seeing a child’s eyes light up when a character arrives. But there is also a sensational feeling of seeing that in reverse. I get to make children’s dreams come true and assist others in creating their own magic. It can’t get much better than that.”

Ruby is an Arts graduate student from the University of Waikato with a degree in screen and media studies. In between her studies and work you might see her around the theatres of hamilton. Either prancing around on stage as a cowboy or angry business woman, or behind the scenes mending costumes and tapping her feet, always eager to perform and create. Ruby’s goal is to mould together her media degree and passion for theatre, to find or create her dream career. Whether it be in front of the camera, creating pieces of theatre, or being a princess for as long as possible.

The only downside to the job is that I’m not tall enough to play Elsa!

Viola loves all things theatre and has been acting and dancing for as long as she can remember. She has been involved in a number of shows since moving to Hamilton in 2011, including Seussical the Musical, The Comedy of Errors, Oklahoma, Aladdin Jr, and 13 the Musical, as well as joining the cast of every school and class production possible! Besides theatre, she enjoys reading, writing and martial arts, having gained her black belt in IMA in 2018.

“To me, joining Enchanted Entertainment NZ was literally a dream come true! I absolutely love children and growing up always wanted to be a princess. (Didn’t we all?) The best part about my job is definitely seeing the happiness and excitement in children’s faces as I walk through the door, and then getting to meet and connect with each and every one of them. I feel incredibly lucky to be part of the Enchanted Entertainment family and can’t wait to create some more magic!

Tycho is studying Theatre at the University of Waikato after gaining a passion for it in high school. His recent shows include The Judgement of Ecstasy, Trojan Barbie, Breaking The Code, Boot, as well as being part of the Choices collection of staged readings. Outside of acting his other passion is film, recently travelling to Auckland for NZIFF (New Zealand International Film Festival), and he spends a lot of his spare time watching all the latest superhero movies (or as he likes to call it: role research!)

“My favourite part of working with Enchanted Entertainment is honestly the kids. They have so much energy and are so spontaneous that every party is a complete surprise. You never know what games they’re going to latch on to or what they’re going to want to do. Playing games with them takes me back to playing with my younger brother and it’s just so much fun! Plus, whenever somebody asks me what my job is I get to tell them I’m Batman, so that’s pretty wicked!”

Since the age of seven, Sherriden has been a thespian. She has always loved performing for people and would even make believe that she was on stage at home in her kitchen, with her mother as the audience. Since then, she has been in several shows in the Waikato and has completed a Bachelor of Arts, with a double major in Theatre and English. She is currently studying a postgraduate diploma in secondary teaching and is about to be in the upcoming Riverlea Christmas show.

“I have always loved these childhood characters from a ripe young age and have be so very lucky to be able to put smiles on the faces of young people. The best part about working for Enchanted Entertainment is bringing joy to all the small children when they see that a princess has come to play with them on their birthday! It’s magic like this that makes me love my job.”

Theatre and music has always been a big part of Davina’s life. She started playing violin at the age of seven, continuing through to the present. As for theatre, she was always involved in her school and community theatre productions, in musicals and plays such as, Footloose, West Side Story, Beauty and the Beast, Peter Pan and many more. She’s currently in her second year of university studying a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in theatre.

“Working for enchanted entertainment doesn’t even feel like a job. It’s a dream come true for me that I get to dress up and go play with and entertain children. The best part is seeing the kids star struck little faces when their favourite princess comes to their party. The greatest gift from this job is that I’m able to put a smile on their face and make their birthday that little bit more special.”

Memphis is studying The Bachelor Of Performance Arts and Music this year at Wintec for his first year after enjoying it so much during high school. His most recent shows in Hamilton were We Will Rock You for Clarence St Theatre and playing Alex the lion in Madagascar Jr. for Musikmakers Hamilton. Outside of acting his other passion is Radio, recently finishing his Internship with The Edge Radio Station. Memphis also spends a lot of his spare time looking after his 4 siblings at home and has found that useful in working with kids outside of the house.

“The best thing about working with Enchanted Entertainment is the comparison and commitment that everyone in the team have for each other. I find that everyone as a group who works as a team achieves great things when it comes to making a child enjoy their time with us. I feel like Enchanted Entertainment really showcases that when it comes to entertaining children and becoming our favourite characters. Enchanted Entertainment really is my second home”

Natalie got her first taste of the performing arts at age five in a school production. Ever since then she has been hooked, and has fallen in love with acting, singing and dancing. Her favourite Disney princesses are Anna, Belle and Ariel. Outside of the arts, she enjoys playing football and baking.

“My favourite thing about being a Princess at Enchanted Entertainment is making children’s dreams of meeting their favourite character come true! This is my dream job because I get to combine so many things that I love: performing, Disney and kids!”

Bio coming soon.

Victoria has been dancing and acting since she was a little girl. She trained in jazz and contemporary for ten years and continued to study dance in both school and university. Growing up, Victoria always wanted to give acting a go as she adored performing on stage, and accordingly joined the agency Vanity Walk. She featured in international advertisements for the brands Milka and Mr. Kipling, and was cast for a New Zealand television show called the Legend of the Seeker. Victoria is currently in her third and final year of her Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Waikato, where she is majoring in psychology and philosophy.

“Being a part of Enchanted Entertainment NZ has allowed me to keep my passion for the arts alive. I have always dreamed of wearing a princess gown and this job provides the chance for me to wear them all! Creating the magic is absolutely the highlight for me. Seeing delight on the children’s faces when they take their first look is so special and I absolutely adore adding a little extra happiness to their day!”

Jenny is a high school student in her second to last year, an avid theatre lover and utter book nerd. Much like her favourite princess, Belle, Jenny can often be found in a corner with a book, or, not-so-much like Belle, center stage in the middle of a production. She has been involved in several productions at Riverlea Theatre, namely High School Musical On Stage and 13! The Musical, as well as numerous school productions in between.

“Honestly, I still can’t believe that I get to be a Disney Princess. I still get shocked when I look in the mirror and see a magical princess looking back. I absolutely adore being able to provide that magic for children. I have always loved Disney so much, and seeing it come to life with my help is absolutely one-of-a-kind. Seeing the birthday child’s face when we walk in is a feeling that can never be replicated”

Sasha has always enjoyed performing, but has only recently found her true passion: musical theatre. With this, she can combine her love for singing, acting and dancing all into one!

Sasha has lived all her life in Raglan, but travels regularly into Hamilton and Cambridge for singing/dance lessons, show rehearsals and now for Enchanted parties! Outside of performing, Sasha enjoys surfing at her local point breaks and playing netball.

“Being an Enchanted princess is not only magical, but also fulfilling. Seeing a child’s face light up when I enter a party is one of the greatest feelings ever! Performing as a princess for Enchanted Entertainment NZ is not only a massive dream come true, it means I get to be a part of a kind, supportive and loving family who will stick with me till the end.”

26/06/2020 – The world lost a princess, but gained an angel

Behind the scenes, she was a friendly, helpful, and caring person. She helped train many of our performers, and was not just a co-worker, but a friend.

We miss you Indigo. Thank you for everything
